WHAT IS ZYBAN MEDICINE USED FOR?
Zyban medication in tablet form is taken as a mood elevating aid to help quit smoking. This medicine also treats depression under the trade name, Wellbutrin®.

WHO SHOULD NOT TAKE ZYBAN DRUG ?

• People who are currently taking, or have recently taken, the antidepressant, Wellbutrin® (Buproprion), or monamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI's).
• People with a head injury, epilepsy, or any other seizure disorder should not take this medicine due to its potential to cause seizures.
• People with anorexia or bulimia should not use this medicine because they are more likely to experience seizures.
• This quit smoking medicine is not advised to be taken by women who are pregnant, or breast-feeding.

HOW DO I USE ZYBAN MEDICATION ?
Recommended dosage is one 150 mg tablet in the morning for 3 days, followed by another 150 mg tablet in the morning and one 150 mg dose tablet in the early evening, starting on day 4 of treatment. Doses should be taken at least 8 hours apart. Continue taking the medication for 7 to 12 weeks. Avoid alcohol. Do not chew, divide, nor crush the tablets.

WHAT ARE POSSIBLE ZYBAN SIDE EFFECTS ?
Most commonly reported side effects that may occur include dry mouth, shakiness, and skin rash. It may also cause flu-like symptoms, like aching muscles, fatigue, and general discomfort. Dizziness may occur if in sitting or lying position. Rise slowly to prevent fainting.

• People who participate in a support group are more likely to succeed in quitting smoking.
• It is not physically dangerous to smoke while using zyban drug, however, continuing smoking seriously reduces your chances of quitting.
