HOW DO I TAKE XENICAL MEDICINE?
For weight loss, this anti-obesity drug should be taken 3 times a day with meals that contain fat, or up to 1 hour afterwards. Xenical medication can be skipped if a meal is missed, or if the meal contains very little fat. There is no proven benefit of using this medicine greater than 3 times in a day. Xenical medicine should be used in conjunction with a nutritionally balanced, reduced-calorie diet containing no more than 30% of calories from fat. Alcohol can be consumed while taking this medication. Take each dose with a full glass of water.

WHAT ARE POSSIBLE XENICAL SIDE EFFECTS ?
Most commonly reported side effects include oily spotting from bowel, flatus with discharge, fecal urgency, fatty/oily stool, oily evacuation, increased defecation, and fecal incontinence. In American clinical trials, xenical side effects were mild and decreased as the patient continued treatment. Talk to a physician if side effects become bothersome.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Take a multi-vitamin, at bedtime, because this medicine keeps one from absorbing certain essential vitamins.
• People taking Pravastatin® should take the weight loss medication at night to avoid a drug interaction.
